Do you take this woman to be your wedded wife?

I love weddings. Everybody gets dressed up to celebrate the first day of a young couple’s life together. Wonderful music, good food, all seasoned with love. It doesn’t get any better than that.

But a royal wedding is something to beyond wonderful. Judy and I were married in 1982 – the same year as Britain’s Prince Charles and Princess Diana. It was a royal wedding. Recently, their children, William and Harry, were married. Royal weddings remind me of a fairy tale.

I have chosen to preach from Psalm 45 this Sunday, September 16, since it is our church’s 45th anniversary. On September 16, 1973 Lloyd and Pat Jewett had the charter service for Faith Baptist Church. My sermon title is: A Royal Wedding.

Psalm 45 is a marriage song, possibly for King Solomon’s wedding. But it is more than just a song about an earthly king’s marriage. The King described is both God and man. That can only be Jesus, the King of kings, with His bride, the church. My sermon, A Royal Wedding, will help us appreciate four attributes of Jesus and His love for the church. We will share testimonies of the impact of our church in our lives. All the glory will go to Jesus.

In addition, Founding Pastor Lloyd Jewett and his wife, Pat, will join us. We want to honor them and any charter members in attendance. I hope you can celebrate with us.

Join us this Sunday @ 10:30 a.m.
