Advent Celebration
The word ADVENT means “coming.” The season of Advent refers to a time leading up to Christmas, set aside to help prepare us to welcome the birth of Christ. Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day. Make this Christmas your most meaningful yet! For many, Christmas seems to be a mile wide and an inch deep. We tire ourselves with an ever-increasing number of gifts to buy, activities to complete, and traditions to uphold. But in the midst of all our busyness, materialism and clutter, when we look upon the Advent season, we feel a bit diminished by our efforts. The labors seem trivial; they somehow only touch the surface. If you can relate, be encouraged! Christmas does not have to be this way. Instead, Christmas can be truly meaningful – a positive, holy observance. All it takes is a different perspective – a true vision of the magnitude of who the “Christmas Baby” really is and what His birth on this earth means for us today. This year's theme is "From Humbug to Hallelujah" as we look at the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge.
