Is death the end?
We have all been faced with the fear of death. I remember the sorrow when my mother and father passed away. It left an emptiness in my heart. Even Jesus wept at the death of his friend, Lazarus.
This past year has left many families dealing with sorrow and separation as death has reminded us how fragile life is. Just this week one of our dear church members had a family member die suddenly. Death is so tragic. However, if we aren’t careful, anxiety over the end of life will rob us of the joy of eternal life. We need to be reminded of the wonderful future for the believer in Jesus.
Join me Sunday, March 28 at 10:30am as I continue our Easter sermon series called This is Love. Jesus died on the cross and He was buried in a tomb. It devastated His followers, But He came back to life in victory. Death was defeated. We need not glamorize or deny the tragedy of death. But we need to realize that death has been defeated because of the resurrection of Jesus. Resurrection is God’s new beginning when all possibilities have ended. Resurrection is God’s gift to us. The resurrection changes everything, especially death.
