“The most amazing miracle in the whole Bible.”
This is the summation of theologian, Wayne Grudem in his monumental book, Systematic Theology, about the incarnation of Jesus. The incarnation is that God became a man.
“It is by far the most amazing miracle in the whole Bible – far more amazing than the resurrection and more amazing than the creation of the universe. The fact that the infinite, omnipotent, eternal Son of God could become man and join Himself to a human nature forever, so that infinite God became one person with finite man, will remain for eternity the most profound miracle and the most profound mystery in all the universe.” – Wayne Grudem
C. S. Lewis states, “The central miracle asserted by Christians is the Incarnation. They say that God became Man. Every other miracle prepares for this, or exhibits this, or results from this.”
This Sunday I will be preaching about the incarnation, Hope Has Arrived from Luke 2:1-20. It is part of my first sermon series of the year, Hope is Born (Luke 1-2). I am preaching through the Gospel of Luke this year – Jesus for Everyone.
In this Sunday’s passage, we will discover that the birth of Jesus drew many people. It drew Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. It drew the angels to the hills of Bethlehem to meet the shepherd. It drew the shepherds to see the baby Jesus. The birth of Jesus will draw you closer to God and His purpose for your life.
I hope you’ll join me this Sunday as we discover the impact the birth of Jesus, the incarnation, has on the world and you.
Join me this Sunday @ 10:30 a.m.
