It seems everybody is telling us how to get rich, but nobody is telling us how to be rich.
We’ve all seen people who are not good at being rich. They’re arrogant, not spending their money right. We think ‘If I were rich, I wouldn’t be that way.’
But because we don’t feel rich we don’t act rich even though we are rich. The truth is if you have more than you need to survive – you are rich. You have a surplus of time, money and possessions. Most of our financial problems are a result of not being good with what we’ve been given.
So, how can a person be good at being rich?
According to 1 Timothy 6:17-19, God encourages rich people in a couple of areas. This Sunday I will share with you some principles on how to be good at being rich. You may be surprised.
This will also be the first Sunday in our month-long campaign to be a little better at giving and doing. We want you to bring in baby supplies (diapers, baby wipes, etc) for our local Care Pregnancy Center. Our goal is 50. Also, bring toiletries (soap, shampoo, shaving supplies, etc) for the Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry. Our goal is 500 items. In addition, we want you to volunteer your time in a local church ministry, ministry in the community, or just someone who needs your help. This month be the Good Samaritan. You will be glad you spent your extra time and money for others.
In addition, this month my sermon series is called Improving Your Service. Not only will we learn how to use our extra time and money, but we will learn what attitudes we should have from 1 Corinthians 4.
This Sunday my message is called: How to be rich. It’s a real eye-opener.
Join us this Sunday, @ 10:30 a.m.
