Amazing things happen when you step out in faith. If you have faith, anything is possible.
Faith is what the Christian life is all about. You start out with faith by believing and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. You progress by trusting the wisdom of God’s Word and God’s wisdom as you make decisions in your life. You continue in faithfulness as God directs your path, in spite of mountains or valleys. When life is done your faith ends in sight and you will be eternally rewarded for being good and faithful.
One of the earliest examples of faith in the Bible was Abraham. He is called ‘the father of the faithful.’ By faith he left his home to an unknown destination simply because God told him to. By faith he and Sarah believed God for a son, though they were both well past childbearing age. By faith the believed because they trusted God.
From this family of faith, we can learn several principles to strengthen our faith. Sometimes we need to see faith in action for it to resonate in our life. Abraham and Sarah were both people of faith and people who struggled in their faith.
This Sunday I continue a sermon series, Home Improvement. I am looking at Bible families to help our families. This week as I studied the life of Abraham and Sarah I discovered some great principles of faith that will help families and individuals. You can prepare by reading Hebrews 11:8-12.
