Today’s students are facing problems in the home, at school, and in society in general in ways more intense than ever before. The pressure to give in to the use of alcohol or drugs is strong. Experimenting sexually outside of marriage is the norm among many young people. The mantras of “live for yourself” and “if it feels good, do it,” ring louder today than any other time in our nation’s history.
Today’s Christian students needs a place where they can find their identity in Jesus Christ and be supported by like-minded peers and adults who are seeking God and his plan for their lives. Students who have given in to the lies of this world need a place where they can find a relationship with their Creator who can transform their lives. We call this group The REMEDY.
Students come face to face with our TOXIC culture day-in and day-out. Yes, we believe our culture is spiritually toxic! And as leaders the important questions to ask ourselves are: “How can we invade the culture with the life-changing, spirit-altering gospel of Jesus Christ? What does it take for our students to live among the toxicity without becoming INFECTED by it?”
It takes a “remedy.” Jesus is the remedy. The church is the remedy. And students can be a part of the remedy as they do life at home, at school, at church, and in the community. God wants His people to be light amongst darkness, a preserving salt amongst decay, and a loving church amongst a hateful culture.
Who We Are
We are a student ministry here to help students live out the gospel in their daily lives. Life is all about Jesus and on Wednesdays, we want to embody that too. We believe Jesus was a fun-loving man who enjoyed people, and we try and emulate that every Wednesday evening. Our goal here is to connect people with Jesus and connect people with each other.
The Remedy is focused on helping junior high and senior high students enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ, learn how to grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and love and serve others in Jesus’ name. We accomplish these goals through relationships with each other through our different programs.
Sunday Mornings we have Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. These gatherings center around the study of God’s Word and how it impacts the life of today’s student.
Sunday Nights (5:30 – 7:00 p.m.) during the school year is the rallying time for our students. We spend time learning Biblical solutions to contemporary issues and have fun doing it. Good times with great people.
Activities/Service – Fun-filled activities are engaged in a monthly event. In addition, teens are challenged to become a part of a group to help others through acts of service.
We also take part in annual youth events like Youth Evangelism Conference, Acquire the Fire, and a Winter Retreat.
If you are junior or high school student looking for a church to call home, or a parent trying to lead your student to join young people who are seeking to love God and others, then we would love to talk with you!
