Veterans Day is an opportunity to show respect to those who served to protect our freedoms. We thank our U.S. military for their service.
Yet, as we show respect to those who defended our flag, we have athletes who show disrespect by kneeling during the national anthem. Surrounding this drama, people hurl words that continue the disrespect to our country, our leaders, and one another. When will it ever end?
I have noticed that society in generally is very rude. Listen to today’s music, television shows, Facebook posts, and school bullies and you wonder if anyone knows how to show respect, honor, and common courtesy.
Throughout the Bible, followers of God are commanded to show honor and respect to others. We are to honor God, parents, government leaders, spiritual leaders, and other Christians. Simply, Christians are to respect everyone.
This Sunday I will dig down and answer the question “Why respect someone who doesn’t deserve respect” We will learn from the life of David, why and how to respect others. Respect to others says more about you than it does anyone else. Because you trust God, you can show respect to anyone. In fact, disrespect is sin.
Join us this Sunday, @ 10:30 a.m. We will honor all veterans with a gift card to McDonalds.
