Have you ever been sick and tired of being sick and tired? Sickness can drain you.

Our church prayer list is full of people with some pretty serious illnesses. Some have the illness that is eventually going to end their life. Any sickness, but especially prolonged illness, can leave you empty. The worst is when the doctors have no answers to your symptoms.

This Sunday I will continue a summer sermon series called, Running on Empty. We are discovering what leaves us empty and what will fill us.

Last Sunday I talked about stress and how stress leaves us empty. This week I will talk about sickness. Whether it’s a life-threatening illness or a 24-hour flu, sickness can leave you empty – physically, emotionally, relationally, spiritually, and especially financially.

I’m going to look at a woman from the Bible who went through all this from a 12 year illness that she just couldn’t find freedom (Luke 8:43-48). Jesus helped her. I hope her story will encourage you in whatever illness you are experiencing.

Join us this Sunday, July 23 @ 10:30 a.m.
