Are you single? You don’t have to be afraid of being single. You shouldn’t be ashamed of it. Or have to apologize for it. The world might not value singleness, but God does. The single life can be a full life when we live it for Christ.

Many people naively think that marriage will solve all their problems. Here are some problems marriage won’t solve: loneliness, sexual temptation, satisfaction of one’s deepest emotional needs, elimination of life’s difficulties. Marriage alone does not hold two people together, but commitment does – commitment to Christ and to each other despite conflicts and problems. As wonderful as it is, marriage does not automatically solve every problem.

This Sunday I will conclude my Spring sermon series called, “Marriage Matters. I am sharing God’s truth about singleness, marriage, friendship and life together from a key Scripture in 1 Corinthians 7. It is a sermon series to help your most valuable relationships.

My topic this Sunday is “Staying Single. I will share four God-given advantages of remaining single from 1 Corinthians 7:25-40. Paul’s advice is that staying unmarried is desirable, but it isn’t demanded. While singleness is not for everyone, I think some singles need to hear that it’s okay. If you know a single person please invite them as I give encouragement and share some recommendations for their life.

It will also be our Graduate Sunday. We will honor all 2018 graduates of high school and college.

Join us this Sunday,  @ 10:30 a.m.
