“Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.”

This statement we have all heard as a child. But it is a big, fat lie. Words can hurt.

‘Watch Ya Mouth’ is a fun game that we will play this Sunday to illustrate the good use of our words. We should all watch what we say.

This Sunday at 10:30 a.m. I want to encourage you to use your words to build up rather than tear down. Especially in a family, words are powerful. If there is ever a place on earth where we need to use words correctly, the home and church are that place.

James 3:1-2 is full of wisdom on the use of words. We will uncover the truths and make practical application to our family. I will also encourage you what exact words you can use to make a big difference in yourself and all you meet.

You won’t want to miss this Sunday. Remember, every word has consequences. It may take you 10 seconds to hurt or help someone by what you say. But in 10 years those words may still hurt or help.
